Mrs Joke Akinseye (nee Adekanmbi) is the co- founder/managing Director of VJPD Consult ltd, a management, training consulting firm with competencies in training development and delivery to executives, middle managers and junior staff in both the private and the public sector. She is also the Executive Director of Arise Foundation.
Her career life started in the ministry of Education where she undertook the compulsory National Service. Thereafter, Joke joined the services of Victory Safety trust (Nigeria) Limited, a health and safety consulting and training firm as a Senior Executive in 1989.
Joke graduated with a Second Class Upper Degree in Microbiology from the University of Ibadan and a second degree in Mathematics from London Metropolitan University, United Kingdom.
Also an alumna of the University of Greenwich, England, United Kingdom from where she capped her educational pursuit with a Masters in Applicable Mathematics, Joke is a member of the association of mathematicians. She also attended the PGCE program at the Christ Church University Canterbury UK
She worked with the British Government as a senior executive for eighteen yearsfrom 1998 to 2016 within various departments from housing, employment, immigration, training and education.
Joke’s personal diligence and exemplary leadership assured the unleashing of human potential of many young professionals that have become champions and stars in various leading organizations in the UK and beyond. She displays a combination of rare leadership capabilities and competence in Management.
This has led to several appointments to serve on the Boards of both profit and not-for profit organizations including National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO)- Board member , Association of School governors, Black and ethnic minority association, London Youth Organization , Greenwich Action for Voluntary organization-GAVS all in the UK.
Joke is an accomplished senior executive with demonstrated ability to deliver mission critical results, also a mentor committed to building the capacity of all those that cross her path both in professional and personal live. Joke has deep passion for leadership, corporate governance and personal development.
Joke is a very dynamic, proactive, ingenious and resourceful woman. A natural leader whose abilities have been enhanced with over 25 years of being in leadership position in the market place, she is a mentor, people manager and business leader. She is married to Sina, a Barrister by profession and they are blessed with lovely children
